VeriFix uses a few specific labels — Living, Developing, Verified, Disputed — so you always know how much to trust what you're reading. Here's what each one means and how to use the product.
Verification labels
Living Story
One continuously-updated story per event.
Traditional news gives you a new article every time something happens. A Living Story is a single page for that event that keeps evolving — every new fact, source, correction or timeline entry is added in place, so you always land on the latest version.
Verified
Confirmed by multiple trusted sources.
The claim is backed by two or more independent, high-trust sources with no meaningful contradictions. Confidence is typically ≥ 80%.
Likely verified
Strong evidence, minor gaps.
Multiple sources agree but coverage is thinner or one source is still low-trust. Confidence 60–80%.
Developing
Still unfolding — details may change.
Evidence is arriving in real time but hasn't yet met the publication threshold. We surface these separately so you know to read with context. Confidence usually < 60%.
Disputed
Sources meaningfully contradict each other.
Two or more credible sources disagree on the facts. VeriFix shows both sides and links each claim back to its evidence rather than picking a winner.
Debunked
Shown to be false by reliable sources.
The claim was actively disproved by trusted publishers or an authoritative correction. Historical debunks stay linked so the same claim doesn't resurface without context.
Unverified
Not enough evidence yet.
We can see the claim in circulation but haven't found enough independent sources to verify or debunk it. Treat with caution.

How sure the system is, 0–100%.
Combines source trust, evidence quality, freshness and contradictions. The ring around each card shows this at a glance.
Evidence
A single sourced claim.
Every fact in a Living Story is backed by an Evidence item — a specific quote, statistic or event drawn from a specific publisher. You can open any story to see the exact evidence behind each claim.
Contradictions
Where trusted sources disagree.
When two credible sources tell different stories, VeriFix surfaces the contradiction instead of hiding it. This is how a story earns a Disputed badge.
Story version
How many times the story has updated.
Every meaningful change — new source, correction, timeline event — bumps the version. The version history page shows exactly what changed and when.
Catch-up / Story memory
What changed since your last visit.
VeriFix remembers which stories you've read. When you return, it tells you what's new so you don't have to re-read the whole story.

One Living Story can exist in many languages — the underlying evidence is the same, only the narrative is translated. We're actively expanding regional-language coverage; if your feed looks English-heavy, that's why.
